Part 3/10:

Amin's personal involvement in repression was noted as a hallmark of his regime. The brutality exhibited by his police force was staggering; victims faced gruesome deaths — clubbed to death, burned alive, and even publicly executed in ways designed to instill fear. The estimated death toll from his three years in power already reached over 150,000 Ugandans. Amin did more than sanction this violence; he actively participated in it, torturing individuals personally in a nearby detention center. It was a regime steeped in fear, both for the citizens and for Amin himself, who was suspicious of everyone around him even as he instigated their fear.
