Part 6/8:
Traveling north to the Amhara region brings visitors to Aksum, once the heart of the Aksumite Empire, where ancient obelisks stand as a legacy of Ethiopia's advanced civilization. Aksum is filled with rich history, having possibly housed the legendary Queen of Sheba. Here, ancient architectural marvels coexist with a thriving market culture, enhanced by community-centric living and agricultural practices.
As one traverses northward to the highlands of Tigray, a different aspect of rural life unfolds. The communities are vibrant, engaged in various tasks that revolve around local agriculture and religious festivities, such as the celebration of Archangel Saint Michael in Adwa, where traditional attire symbolizes cultural pride.
