The green coffee beans are subsequently sorted for quality and packed into burlap bags labeled for traceability. When these bags arrive at a Nescafé factory, robotic systems handle them to prevent employee injuries from lifting heavy weights. Each bag passes through a moisture sensor, and if humidity levels are not ideal, they are discarded.
Before roasting, an important final check occurs where human tasters sample numerous brewed cups of coffee to ensure quality. This stage is critical, as even one bad bean can taint an entire batch.
