The beans are then roasted in an industrial double-walled rotating drum at high temperatures ranging from 370 to 540°F. During roasting, the coffee develops its rich aroma and flavor, with the duration of roasting impacting both taste and caffeine levels. Following roasting, the beans are cooled using a powerful fan to stop the process and preserve their flavors.
From Roasted Beans to Instant Coffee
After cooling, the beans are milled into a coarse powder and brewed into a concentrated liquid coffee extract. This extract can then be dried using either the spray-drying or freeze-drying method to create different varieties of Nescafé.
