Intrigued by the allure of these street vendors, I set out to explore how profitable they really are, what it takes to run one, and the challenges involved. My journey began not at dawn, but the night before, as I prepared for a day in the life of Dan Rossi, known as the "hot dog king" of New York.

A Night in the Van

To understand Dan’s world, I spent the night in a rented van alongside him outside The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Every night, Dan sleeps in his van to reserve his prime selling spot. As we awaited dawn, I prepared myself for what would be a grueling day ahead.
