Part 2/9:
Around four years ago, we purchased our home—a 1950s ranch that had been foreclosed. It required extensive renovations, but the end result has been a comfortable living space for our family of six. One hidden gem in our home is the unfinished basement, which became our go-to for food storage since storage crops thrive in cool, dark locations.
Initially, we filled the basement with homegrown produce without a solid plan for organization. Thankfully, our first year yielded remarkable results, with winter squash lasting an entire year. Over the years, we’ve refined our storage methods, but our core principle of using the basement has remained effective.
