Unlike his predecessors, Akhenaten possessed an unusual appearance, depicted with an elongated skull, potbelly, and distinctive arms. These deviations have spurred speculation about his origins. While ancient cultures, including Egypt, employed head binding for aesthetic purposes, the peculiarities of Akhenaten’s depictions have led some to query whether he was, in fact, human or represented something otherworldly.
