Switching gears, Mark also addressed an intriguing annual event: an international baseball arbitration competition held by a sports law program. This competition involves law students presenting mock cases, showcasing their advocacy skills across various aspects of arbitration. Judges, comprising industry professionals and Mark, evaluate the performances, which often exhibit remarkable proficiency comparable to real-life arbitration hearings.
Participants prepare arguments for both sides of a case, but excitingly discover their designated player the day before the competition. While some competitors find the experience daunting, it serves as excellent training for future careers in law, even if they don’t pursue baseball directly.
