Part 2/10:
The Heineken story begins in 1864 when Gerard Adrian Heineken purchased a struggling brewery in Amsterdam. Born into a merchant family, Gerard had little experience in brewing but possessed an unwavering confidence and vision. He opted to produce lager — a significant departure from the traditional ales that dominated the market. By 1873, he renamed his enterprise Heineken's Beer Brewery and began expanding its reach, establishing a prominent presence in the Netherlands.
