Part 4/9:
On another front, the United States is undergoing a substantial transformation in semiconductor manufacturing. In response to a previously shifting industry dominated by Asian countries, the U.S. is making great strides to reclaim its position.
Intel is at the forefront, expanding its operations across several states, including Arizona, New Mexico, Ohio, and Oregon. These semiconductor fabrication plants (known as Fabs) feature high-tech designs, costly investments nearing $10 billion for each facility, and the most advanced tools used in chip production. In particular, Intel's initiatives in Ohio are noteworthy, heralding the “Silicon Heartland,” aiming to establish an entire tech ecosystem and creating thousands of jobs.
