Inflation remains a critical issue within Argentina’s economy, still sitting at rates exceeding 100%. This is despite the recent decline in the inflation rate from a concerning peak of over 292% in April 2024 to 118% in December. Although inflation has decreased rapidly, Argentina still maintains the highest inflation rate among the G20 nations and the second-highest globally, with serious implications for everyday life.

The struggle against inflation is compounded by economic disparity, as food prices have also dramatically increased, further straining those living on the edge of poverty. The implications are dire: with inflation hovering near 100%, many Argentines spend most of their income solely on food, leaving little room for any other expenses.
