Young was accused of demanding $75,000 for a car to Pakistan and $14,500 per person for evacuation to the United Arab Emirates or Albania. These prices seemed unattainable for most Afghans desperate to flee the Taliban's regime. However, as the court case unfolded, it became evident that these assertions had little basis in truth.
