Volkswagen's Potential Plant Sales to Chinese Automakers
In a move that would have been unimaginable just a few years ago, Volkswagen (VW) is considering selling some of its assembly plants in Germany to Chinese automakers. CEO Oliver Blume confirmed that discussions are underway with VW's Chinese joint venture partners, though no decisions have been finalized yet. This strategy could be welcomed by labor unions if it helps safeguard jobs, though they have stipulated that any vehicles produced from these plants must carry the VW logo and be developed specifically for those joint ventures.
