Despite the strategic goals of establishing footholds on the outskirts of Pokrovsk, Russian forces are facing major challenges. The offensive operation on the western flank of the city has seen substantial setbacks, as Ukrainian forces successfully launch counterattacks to limit Russian advancement. The lack of a cohesive strategy and the inhumane treatment of wounded soldiers have severely hampered the effectiveness of the Russian military.
