He commandeered the use of a photocopier, producing forged documents claiming the coup was a Mossadegh plot against the Shah, and incited further unrest among his operatives.

On August 17, Kermit's hired gangs took to the streets, igniting riots that rocked Tehran. What remained of order paved the way for chaos as anti-Mossadegh sentiments burgeoned, ultimately culminating in extreme violence and the tragic loss of life. By the following morning, Kermit was able to announce that the coup had succeeded.
