Once harvested, sugar cane is brought to factories for processing. In Australia, for instance, a high-capacity vehicle transports the cane to raw sugar factories where it is weighed and shredded. The shredded cane undergoes a series of crushing mills to separate sugar juice from fiber, which is then refined through heating and clarification processes. This juice is thickened into syrup and crystallized to produce raw sugar that is later dried, stored, and prepared for shipping.
