Part 2/9:
Shibam’s skyline resembles that of a modern metropolis, prompting awe when compared to contemporary urban centers such as Manhattan. However, unlike the iconic skyscrapers of the United States, the structures in Shibam are 2,000 years old, crafted from traditional mud bricks. Enclosed in a compact space of around 330 by 240 meters, this ancient city houses approximately 7,000 residents, thereby highlighting its dense population and historical significance.
