Accepting assistance, too, has been a humbling challenge. Throughout my life, I prided myself on independence and self-sufficiency. However, as age crept in, the need for help became unavoidable. This newfound reliance does not denote weakness; rather, it highlights our shared humanity. Aging becomes a process of letting go—of expectations, habits, and sometimes, the person we once were. In their place, we gain wisdom and a refined appreciation for what truly matters.
