Once the beam is accurately directed at the satellite, the next crucial function is the transfer of data. Information is encoded through variations in amplitude and phase. Using a method called Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (QAM), which can encode a combination of six bits per signal, hundreds of megabits can be sent simultaneously.
This ability allows users to stream high-definition content, play online games, and browse the web effortlessly. The satellite communicates back, sending and receiving data in alternating time slots to optimize internet traffic.
