Many opponents of traditional Christian teachings suggest that if Jesus did not voice his condemnation of certain behaviors, such as homosexuality, then he must condone them. However, this assumption is built upon flawed reasoning. For example, Jesus's silence on issues like incest, bestiality, and child sacrifice does not imply that he endorses these practices.
Notably, Episcopal Bishop Gene Robinson—who is in a legal same-sex marriage—acknowledges that just because Jesus was silent on homosexuality does not mean he affirmed it. Instead, Robinson states that all one can conclude from Jesus's silence is merely that he was silent on the issue.
