Part 2/8:
In 1946, after WWII, Joseph Stalin annexed what was then part of Germany, known previously as Königsberg. The city was heavily damaged during the war, necessitating its reconstruction, which led to the construction of typical Soviet-style apartment blocks. Despite this, some historical structures have managed to survive or have been intentionally restored, such as the gates of the former Königsberg Fortress. The remnants of this historical architecture coexist with the sparse modern buildings, providing a glimpse into the region's tumultuous past.
