Interestingly, there is a growing recognition of the need for clear-cut assessments in military roles. For example, fire-fighting personnel must exhibit strength, and Special Operations forces should excel in precision strikes. The fading away of these traditional values in earlier political climates has harmed military recruitment and effectiveness. There is now a burgeoning consensus that society must embrace core responsibilities aligned with the skill sets required for these jobs, thus allowing the military to function optimally.
