Favre’s introduction to the NFL was less than welcoming. As he entered the Atlanta Falcons’ training camp, he tossed on his shorts and helmet, ready to prove himself. However, he quickly found that Glanville wanted another player—a guy from Mississippi State—thus leading to a sense of rejection. It wasn’t long before Favre felt the weight of the expectations on his shoulders and the pressure from a coach who did not seem to support him. The confusion and uncertainty of his rookie year left him feeling as if he was in a shell, questioning if he truly belonged in the NFL.
