In 1998, he claimed to have had a life-altering encounter with an extraterrestrial being, an experience that shifted his focus from technology to the pursuit of advanced propulsion systems. He narrated this experience on an Australian television program, claiming that during this encounter, he expressed a desire to travel in space, a dream that became a consuming obsession in the years to come.
