Consciousness as Fundamental
In response to these profound questions, Hoffman proposes a revolutionary idea: to invert the approach to understanding reality. Instead of beginning with space and time, he suggests we start with consciousness as the fundamental entity. From this perspective, consciousness would give rise to the realities of space, time, and their associated phenomena.
This model presents a captivating hypothesis—one in which consciousness operates beyond our conventional frameworks, and the perceived universe is merely a user interface akin to a virtual reality system. In this metaphor, experiences and perceptions are not reflections of external realities, but rather constructed interfaces enabling us to interact with and navigate an otherwise unfathomable existence.
