For about a decade, many entertainment franchises have attempted to modify their narratives and characters to appeal to a so-called modern audience. However, investigations, such as the Twitter files, have revealed that this demographic is largely a mirage—an audience that doesn't exist in significant numbers. The attempts at inclusion and representation, particularly in franchises like Marvel and Star Wars, have contributed to their decline in viewership. Sadly, the same can be said for Doctor Who, which has dared to push the envelope on social themes.
