The debate about the true nature of light has captivated scientists for centuries. In the 17th century, the Dutch astronomer Christian Huygens proposed that light behaves as a wave, while Isaac Newton posited that it is made up of particles, which he called corpuscles. This duality of light—a wave-particle duality—was remarkably complex. It wasn't until the pioneering work of Thomas Young in 1801 that an experiment designed to show light as a wave was developed, demonstrating that light can indeed create interference patterns.
