Creation of Artificial Light
Human invention has also harnessed the power of light. Most artificial sources, such as light bulbs and street lamps, generate light by exciting electrons in atoms. When electrons drop back to lower energy states, they emit photons—thus enabling us to illuminate our surroundings.
