A Memorable Encounter
One fateful day at the grocery store, Mariota was manning the register when an unusually large woman approached him with an unusual request. She asked to purchase “a half a head of lettuce.” Taken aback by the request, Mariota responded candidly, stating, “We don’t sell half heads, just whole heads.” The woman’s frustration became palpable, showing that she was not pleased with the response.
