Facing Mortality
In contemplating death, Schopenhauer offers a stark conclusion: death may very well be the only true liberation from suffering. Given that life is fundamentally unfulfilling, the end of existence offers release and should not be feared as a loss of something valuable. Instead, it represents a return to a state of non-existence—an escape from an incessantly disappointing life.
