At the heart of The Cheesecake Factory's appeal is, unsurprisingly, its cheesecake. The dessert has a long-standing history, but the success of this restaurant is unique. The journey began back in the 1940s when Evelyn Overton discovered a cheesecake recipe that would change her life. After years of baking from her basement, she and her husband Oscar took the plunge to establish The Cheesecake Factory Bakery in Los Angeles in 1972.
