Part 3/9:
As Rainbow entered a new era in 1979, Blackmore recognized the necessity for an almost complete overhaul of the band's lineup. The quest for a new vocalist led him to Graham Bonnet, a singer previously associated with the band Marbles. Bonnet's recruitment accompanied other lineup changes, with only drummer Cozy Powell remaining from the previous assembly. In tandem with Bonnet, Blackmore brought in keyboardist Don Ary and bassist Roger Glover (who doubled as the producer of Down to Earth), finally assembling a group ready to embark on this new commercial vision.
