The data revealed that approximately 7.3 million single mothers exist in America, with a notable concentration among those in their 30s and 40s who lack a college degree. The average rate of single motherhood in the U.S. stands at 21%, with African-American single mothers comprising the largest group at 47%, followed by 25% of Hispanic mothers, 14% of white mothers, and just 8% of Asian mothers.
