He acknowledged many of his own mystical experiences or precognitive dreams, leading him to understand that individual consciousness is merely a small branch of a vast psychic network. Rational materialism fails to account for the complexities of the human experience, something that Jung lamented in his memoirs, as he witnessed the plight of humanity in its quest for meaning within a disconnected world.
