With a solid batting average and ability to get on base, paired with the ultimate slugger Aaron Judge hitting behind him, Bellinger could provide the perfect balance and increase the efficiency of the lineup.
Then there’s the case for Dominguez. The consensus is that while Dominguez may have the speed and skills typical of a leadoff hitter, the pressures of performing at a major league level—especially in both hitting and fielding—could be detrimental. Keeping him lower in the lineup may allow him to adjust without the added burden that comes with leading off.
