Part 5/7:
As the New Media landscape continues to flourish, traditional outlets are struggling to keep pace. In an attempt to remain relevant, the Oscars tried to shed some of their political overtones in 2024 but failed to recognize that their core problem was the lack of compelling content. Rather than merely trimming political commentary, they need to return to storytelling that resonates with the masses.
The response from politicians using a singular narrative or rhetoric—echoed across various platforms without substance—betrays a lack of originality and disconnect from the electorate. The absence of varied viewpoints reduces opportunities for genuine engagement and reflection, solidifying the public's perception of a monolithic, out-of-touch political elite.
