Roberto Suarez Gomez was born on January 8, 1932, in Santa Ana Del Yacuma, a remote Bolivian town. Coming from a wealthy family engaged in cattle ranching, he learned early lessons about hard work and leadership. Yet, Suarez’s ambitions transcended the tranquil life of farming. In the politically unstable and impoverished Bolivia of the 1950s and 60s, where coca leaves thrived, he saw both a problem and a potential fortune.
