Part 2/10:

In the early 1900s, Austrian immigrants Asher and Mark Grossinger made the Catskills their home, initially renting rooms from their modest abode to summer visitors. This humble beginning blossomed into something grand when they acquired a larger hotel property in 1918. Over the years, Grossinger's grew into a vast 585-room resort, boasting a myriad of amenities that included a golf course, indoor and outdoor pools, and even an airstrip. As the golden years rolled in during the 1950s through 70s, Grossinger’s became synonymous with lavish holidays, welcoming high-profile guests and entertainers and making it the second-largest hotel in America.
