In a contradictory tale, Hogan narrated being clueless about the scripted nature of professional wrestling until well into his year of training. In his first autobiography, he described being shocked when he learned wrestling was choreographed. Yet, in another account, he recounts a moment watching Bob Orton wrestle which supposedly unveiled the truth to him. Such inconsistencies cast doubt on Hogan's credibility, especially when it contradicts his earlier claims.
