The story begins with William Fox in the early 1900s. The industry was in its infancy, characterized by inexpensive Nickelodeon theaters scattered across the United States. Fox started by purchasing one of these theaters in Brooklyn and ultimately transformed his venture into a chain of over 200 theaters. By 1915, he consolidated his operations under the Fox Film Company, establishing a presence in Hollywood and working with many prominent film stars.
