Part 4/10:
In addition to his classic guard role, Candy's other acting moments brimmed with humor and authenticity. In Splash, he portrayed Freddy, the brother of protagonist Alan Bower. During filming, a late arrival due to drinking with Jack Nicholson led to a hilarious, albeit chaotic, performance that actually worked in favor of the scene. Ghostbusters director Ivan Reitman also initially envisioned Candy in the role of Louis Tully, but when Candy passed on it, Rick Moranis stepped in, ultimately cementing Moranis as an iconic character.
