Part 2/8:
During a recent Oval Office announcement, Trump highlighted the planned signing of an 80-page mineral agreement between the U.S. and Ukraine. This deal has reportedly evolved over time, with a key decision highlighting a substantial reduction in Ukraine’s repayment obligations – dropping from $300 billion to just $100 billion. Secretary Scott Bessen confirmed that the deal would likely be signed on April 26.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky hinted that progress has been made on the deal, mentioning that a memorandum of understanding could be finalized soon. However, confusion remains as the original signing was supposed to occur during Zelensky's earlier visit in February, when he chose to focus on securing a more comprehensive agreement.
