The six major state-owned banks—Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, Agricultural Bank of China, Bank of China, China Construction Bank, Postal Savings Bank of China, and Bank of Communications—recently reported a stark decline in revenue for the first quarter of 2025. Collectively, they recorded a revenue drop of approximately 910.2 billion yuan, down 13.9 billion yuan year-on-year.
