Part 2/9:

Abilene, a small town in Texas known for its rugged charm, is in the throes of transformation. Formerly a barren field, this once-quiet space is becoming the site of what could be the most substantial infrastructure project in human history. Chase Lochmiller, founder of Crusoe, the startup behind the data center initiative, represents the new wave of visionaries spearheading the charge.

Lochmiller asserts that Stargate "will create new ways of doing business" and "power the AI revolution," intending to establish a compute cluster with interconnected GPUs across eight separate buildings. The site is expected to employ around 1,200 workers and create a multitude of jobs, extending beyond technical positions to include maintenance and security.
