Born on July 2, 1947, in Sheep's Head Bay, Brooklyn, Larry David was raised in a modest Jewish family. His father, Morty, worked in the men’s clothing business, providing a grounded upbringing that contrasted sharply with his later success in Hollywood. David attended Sheep's Head Bay High School and then went on to study history at the University of Maryland, where he discovered his talent for comedy—not through traditional jokes, but simply by being himself.
