Blanco’s reign, however, was impermanent; by the mid-1980s, law enforcement began cracking down, and she eventually found herself imprisoned on drug trafficking charges in 1985. Her legend endured behind bars, and upon her release in 2004, she was deported to Colombia. In a twist of fate befitting a notorious drug lord, Blanco was murdered in 2012 in a manner reminiscent of her own violent directives.
