Fast forward to the 20th century, the advent of liquid-fueled rockets in the 1920s initiated the era of achievable space travel. However, these innovations were quickly adopted for military use, as seen with Nazi Germany's development of the V2 rocket, which precipitated the first significant leap into warfare technology with reach into space.
