Part 7/12:
Problem 3: The Horizon Problem
The horizon problem posed by Sergei Krasnikov contends that occupants within the warp drive would lack any means to navigate, steer, or even communicate with the outside universe. This phenomenon suggests that observers cannot influence points outside their future light cone—resulting in a situation akin to that encountered if one were to pass through a black hole’s event horizon.
Alcubierre Drive would necessitate creating an “interstellar highway” where supportive infrastructure could allow for such travel. Despite the gravity of the issue, it could again be construed as a complex engineering challenge rather than a fundamental roadblock.
