Poland's New President: A Shift Towards Conservatism and Nationalism
In a remarkable electoral turning point, Poland has chosen a new president, Karol Narowski, this past weekend. Known as a conservative nationalist and a relative political outsider, Narowski emerged victorious against the liberal mayor of Warsaw, Donald Tusk, despite running as an independent candidate. His campaign was notably bolstered by the support of the right-wing Law and Justice Party, and even garnered backing from former U.S. President Donald Trump.
