Several factors underlie the hesitancy towards EVs among American consumers, primarily cost and charging infrastructure. Charge anxiety remains a significant barrier, and it’s noticeable that consumers are significantly more at ease with the EV landscape now compared to just a few years ago. Improvements in charging networks, specifically Tesla's supercharging stations, have alleviated many of these concerns, making the prospect of owning an EV more appealing.
